Our Team.

We believe that our team of paralegals, legal assistants and law clerks is second to none. Most of our support staff has been part of our team for many years. Two of our paralegals have twenty or more years of experience.


Karen Robles, Executive Office Administrator/Paralegal


Karen serves as the firm’s executive office administrator and as a paralegal. She joined the firm in 2013 after retiring as Chief of Staff from the Las Cruces Public Schools where she worked for 23 years. Karen is an APS classroom volunteer.

Suzanna Tenorio, Senior Paralegal


Suzanna is a nationally certified paralegal and a member of the State Bar Legal Division. She was born and raised in Zuni, NM. She and Beth German have worked together since 1998. Suzanna graduated from the University of New Mexico with a BS in Political Science in 2002. She is an active member of the NM State Bar Paralegal Division and is an enthusiastic supporter of her son’s many athletic pursuits.

Graciela Esquivel, Paralegal


Graciela is an Albuquerque native and graduate of Boston College with a degree in Sociology. Prior to graduating she was a paralegal at the Esquivel Law Firm. Graciela is a regular volunteer at Crossroads for Women. She is a member of the NM State Bar Association Paralegal Division.

Donna Toscano, Receptionist/Legal Assistant


Donna’s background in theater makes her the perfect receptionist. She grew up in New Jersey and is active in the theatre community. Prior to joining German • Burnette & Associates, LLC in 2010, Donna was the Business Director at Albuquerque Little Theatre.

Carol Wood, Senior Paralegal


Carol grew up in Albuquerque’s South Valley and is a 1985 graduate of the University of New Mexico with a BA in Sociology with an emphasis on Criminology. She joined the firm in 2011, following the retirement of the Albuquerque attorney with whom she worked since 1979. Carol is a dog lover and, recently, a grandmother.She is a member of the NM State Bar Association Paralegal Division.

Paul Levesque, Paralegal


A paralegal with the firm since 2012, Paul is a graduate of the University of Alaska-Anchorage. He is an avid fan of sports and the great outdoors. There’s nothing he enjoys more than backpacking or camping with his wife, son, and the family’s much-loved dogs.​

Melanie Scholar, Legal Assistant


Melanie holds a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of New Mexico. She has worked in the ski and equestrian fields and served 2 terms on the Corrales Village Council. Born in Oregon and raised around the world, she enjoys international history and travel, community involvement and animal rescue.
