EXPERIENCE
Lindsay Van Meter has been practicing law in New Mexico since 2004, after graduating from the University of New Mexico School of Law. She has significant experience representing governmental entities in complex civil litigation, particularly in federal court.
Ms. Van Meter worked as a law clerk for the Honorable Jonathan B. Sutin, then Chief Judge of the New Mexico Court of Appeals, after law school. She then joined the firm of Gilpin & Keefe, which became Gilpin & Associates, focusing on employment law. She then worked for six years as a law clerk for the Honorable M. Christina Armijo, New Mexico, then Chief Judge of the New Mexico District Court. She also worked as Managing City Attorney for the City of Albuquerque on matters involving the Albuquerque Police Department, including implementing the Court Approved Settlement Agreement between the United States and City of Albuquerque regarding policing practices, and litigation against the United States regarding federal policing grants.
